Gage Baxter Promoted to Managing Director

Belmont University has promoted Gage Baxter to managing director to serve as managing director of The Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.

September 24, 2024Gage Baxter, who has been with the center since its inception in December 2021, previously served as director of external affairs.

In a role that is new to The Fisher Center, Baxter will spearhead marketing, ticketing, patron experience and audience-development efforts and cultivate new revenue opportunities for the 150,000-square-foot multipurpose arts and music center. He will also play a key role in the growth of partnerships and cultural alliances.

Baxter joined Belmont University as a member of its development team in 2019, helping raise funds for the Fisher Center’s capital campaign and the university’s College of Music and Performing Arts.

Before joining Belmont, Baxter worked with the Charleston Gaillard Center in Charleston, S.C.

A Nashville native, Baxter serves on numerous boards including College of Charleston’s School of the Arts, Rooftop Nashville and Tennessee Presenters.

“Gage has been an essential part of the Fisher Center’s story,” said Chaz Corzine, Fisher Center executive director. “His extensive experience in the arts and deep understanding of our mission have been a vital part of our growth and success. I look forward to seeing how his leadership and commitment to education will continue to elevate the Fisher Center as a cultural hub in Nashville and beyond.”

Anchored by a 1,700-seat theater, The Fisher Center has seen performances by Brad Paisley,Little Big Town, Patti LaBelle, Carrie Underwood, The War & Treaty and Chris Stapleton, among others. The venue has also been the backdrop for national broadcasts by CMACountry Christmas, CMT Giants and Christmas at Belmont and organizations such as the Nashville Opera, Nashville Ballet, Porter’s Call and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
